TELL US MORE ABOUT YOURSELF

“I started with a science baccalaureate. Then I naturally continued to university to study further science. But I was not sure what I wanted to do, and the career prospects felt vague. I quickly realized it was not the right fit. After a few months off and attending some open days, I discovered logistics, a field I immediately enjoyed. I earned my logistics degree after 3 years of study in Alençon, France, where the school had a close-knit and dynamic student community.

I have always been drawn to Japanese culture and history. So, I decided to get a formative experience in Japan with a Working Holiday visa. I stayed for under a year, picked up some basic Japanese, and worked on English. And having a close friend there made the adventure even more rewarding.

In addition, I spent 6 months as a freelance sports writer. I have always been passionate about sports. I used to play basketball in high school, and writing about that world while understanding its inner workings was fascinating.”

A NATURAL FIT AT IGUANA YACHTS

“After my studies, I first worked in the transport sector in Normandy. It was a good initial experience, but it was mainly focused on problem-solving with little emphasis on true logistical organization. That was not what I was looking for.

I wanted to work in a smaller, people-focused company where I could make an impact and explore various facets of the job. That is exactly what I found at Iguana Yachts, which I joined in January 2020 as a logistics warehouse clerk.”

“I came across the job posting online at the end of 2019, with no prior knowledge of the boating industry. Now, after five years, I have advanced as a logistics technician at Iguana Yachts. As our logistics manager was on maternity leave, we needed to rethink our internal processes as a logistics team. I enjoy these new missions, and I have been able to put my skills into action to help structure the department. We have kept this setup in place after her return, and it has been working well.”

A TIGHT-KNIT TEAM IN A STIMULATING ENVIRONMENT

“What I appreciate most at Iguana is the work environment. The atmosphere is excellent, and we have a very tight-knit team. I have been working with my manager for 5 years now, and we have a great relationship. We often refer to our mindset as “Happiness Management”.

Every day is different, which makes the job exciting. Today, our department is well-structured with solid processes & a skilled team.”

Iguana boats are truly impressive. Among my favorite models is the Bow Rider, thanks to its innovative layout, and the X100 White Edition, which stood out for its design."

A TYPICAL DAY FULL OF SURPRISES

“In logistics, the goal is to follow a structured workflow, but unexpected events can always shake things up. It teaches you to be flexible and to effectively prioritize your tasks.

Urgent internal requests, such as after-sales service shipments or production demands, can be added to external constraints like supplier delays. Our role is to ensure that all supplies are up to date, manage ordering, maintain supplier relationships, coordinate transport & projects.”

What is exciting about this job is being able to follow the product from A to Z and serve as a key connector between departments. It helps reduce risks through clear communication, and on a personal level, it has helped me grow and evolve.”

ONGOING CHALLENGES & MEANINGFUL EVOLUTION

“Striking the right balance between quality, cost, and availability of components is also a constant challenge. It is all about anticipation, coordination, and negotiation.

This past year has been the most challenging of my career, marked by my job transition and a complete redefinition of our team structure. I took on new responsibilities, including a more operational role. My current position is incredibly stimulating, and I feel fulfilled in it.”
